Agree with Logyboy

Pros

  • Breathable
  • Good padding
  • Fits well

Cons

  • Tears easily

Best Uses

Comments:

The seam came undone (just like Logyboy). There is a quality control issue on these Chinese made gloves. They did not last more than 4 months or so before the seams failed. I did not use them that much either. I expected better from Specialized. I wonder if the LBS will do anything....

Nice glove, poor build.

Cons

Comments:

Nice gloves until they fall apart. Less than a season of riding and the stiching at the fingers let loose right to the palms. This happend with both gloves on all fingers. I usauailly get two full seasons from gloves before they fall apart. Last pair of these I ever buy.

Comments:

I bought a pair of Specialized BG Gel Gloves in Gettysburg, PA, while cycling across the U.S. The gloves felt good immediately and helped with issues I was having with my other gloves. These have excellent padding across the palm and base of the palm which helps protect the nerve in the center of my palm. I am purchasing a second pair because companies frequently change an item year to year and I don't want to not be able to find them....

Short lived investment

Cons

  • Seams are weak poor

Best Uses

Comments:

The gloves are very comfortable to wear, but they are not very durable. After a dozen or so rides around the trails at Bayers Lake and Spider Lake the seams started to let go around where the microfiber thumb sleeve attaches to the mesh fiber on the top part of the glove. For the money spent on these gloves I would not recommend them to anyone, unless you don't mind blowing [$] on new gloves every 3-4 months.

Comfortable but flawed

By

About Me Avid Cyclist

Pros

  • Breathable
  • Good padding
  • Fits well

Cons

  • Tears easily

Best Uses

  • Warm Weather

Comments:

They are very comfortable but as with the other two reviewers, both gloves have torn at the base of the thumb panel after only two or three rides. I haven't bothered to have them stitched even though my wife is a seamstress. The holes have not gotten any larger (about 1/2"). Other than the holes, they remain one of the most comfortable and well padded gloves I have owned. I wouldn't recommend these only because I figure that this is a common problem with these particular gloves and by the time next years version (2011) come out, Specialized with have addressed the problem. In other words, wait for the newer version.

Mine tore at the thumbs too after only a couple of rides. I restitched them and they've been good to go ever since.

Tears at seams

Cons

  • Tears easily

Best Uses

Comments:

After about 3 hours of riding I noticed both gloves had torn at the seam on the thumbs. Almost all of my equipment and bike is Specialized, so I was disappointed in the gloves. Everything else I have from Specialized is excellent.

Women's XL version is great!

    Comments:

I have very large hands for a woman, and the women's version of this glove fits wonderfully. I've been wearing them around to see if they continue to feel great and they do. Not tight in the wrong places. The pads on the lower palm are great. I can even type in them! I usually have to buy men's gloves; it's refreshing to have women's for once.
